Everyday Cricut

I love seeing what new project Melanie or Joy on Everyday Cricut has come up with. I read the Everyday Cricut blog, well, everyday! I'm telling you about this because Everyday Cricut also has giveaways each week, (and a very special giveaway this week - see below) and I won a Cricut cartridge a few weeks ago. To win, all you have to do is read the posts and leave a comment. Easy! Plus, they have fabulous ideas! These ladies can combine colors and patterns like you would not believe. So creative!

I was very excited to win the cartridge, but to be completely honest... and I don't know what this says about me... my very favorite part of my win was that they included a handmade card with the cartridge!

Isn't that a beautiful card? I love the gentle colors, the ribbon, and the buttons on the tree. And it is really much prettier than my photo shows.

Today on Everyday Cricut, Melanie and Joy are giving away a Cricut Expression, donated by Provo Craft. I know several of you would have so much fun with a Cricut. Head over to the blog and post a comment! I plan to enter myself. But, I'd be happy for you if you won too!

Happy National Scrapbook Day! and if you don't scrapbook, celebrate by creating a memory!

We Did It!

I had my ears pierced when I was about 10 years old. I did it because my best friend and big sister, Jill, did and of course, I wanted to be just like my big sister.

With babies around, I just haven't worn earrings in a few years and my holes were gone. But, I guess I am just not brave enough to get my ears pierced by myself, so once again, I waited until someone else was brave enough to get hers done. It wasn't my big sister this time, It was FRitW's and MT's big sister! Maggie got her ears pierced!

She got the cutest pink flower earrings and I got white flower earrings.
Just for the record - I made her go first!

I've had a makeover! Well, my blog has had a makeover. What do you think?

My blog has been completely redesigned by Brianna at By The Way Blog Boutique. She created a custom background and my beautiful header with its cheerful colors and stitching. The kids and I particularly like the font in our title! She also created a blog button for me, and my cute signature -see below! My very favorite part is the scrolling photos on my right sidebar! She even fixed it so I can change those photos as often as I please - so be watching for new photos! - Just a note on that - did you see how much alike Kirk and FRitW look holding their new little siblings?

Brianna has been great to work with. She is very easy to communicate with, faithful to answer emails, and creative! She asked me some questions about colors and interests and came up with a fresh, clean, colorful blog design that I love and amazingly enough, Kirk AND Maggie love too! (Maggie and I - no big deal, but for Kirk to like something we like - BIG deal!) So, Thank You Brianna!

School - "FRitW style"

FRitW's favorite part of school is "doing experiments". In fact, he considers the words "school" and "experiment" to be synonyms! He has two favorite experiments. First is testing anything and everything with litmus paper. Second is measuring the temperature of hot and cold liquids. Yesterday was a thermometer day.

He chose hot coffee, iced tea, cold tap water, hot tap water, and cold milk. He put the thermometer in each cup and drew an arrow on his paper to show if the temperature was high or low. He loves watching the mercury rise and fall!

Finally, he added ice to the coffee and watched it melt. He added ice several times and all of it melted. That was HOT coffee!

Chicken Sunday

Papa and Mimi took the grandkids for some “chicken shopping” a week ago and FRitW and MT have been desperate to visit their chickens! Today was the day.

During nap time, Maggie got to spend a couple of hours with the chickens (oh, and Papa & Mimi!). For an hour she had a chicken on each shoulder hiding in her hair. She named them “Hairiet” and “Earring”, but FRitW wants to name one of those “Fred”. Dad suggested “Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner”. We’ll see in the end!

Once their rest time was over, it was time for FRitW and MT to visit those chickens. Oh, those chickens are completely worn out! They have been held, cuddled, fed, and held some more.
